    Year 6 Computing Week

    Throughout Computing Curriculum Week, Year 6 have been exploring computer algorithms and learning about how computers need to be programmed in order to follow an instruction. Using the programme Scratch, Year 6 were tasked with designing and creating a ‘Crab-maze Game’, following this design brief/ programme aim: To create a maze game where the crab sprite steers through a maze, collecting coins and scores until it reaches the maze end, which takes it to another level. If it hits the wall the game ends.

     

    Year 6 worked in pairs to skilfully design and create games by importing costumes; making the sprites (characters) move; designing and drawing a background maze and resetting start and end positions. Throughout this process, Year 6 continuously evaluated, adapted and refined their games, ensuring they were fit for purpose.
