Year 3 Computing Week
Year 3 began the week by thinking about how giving clear instructions is important for an activity to be successful. We gave our partner instructions to draw a picture, we then checked to see if their picture matched ours. If it didn’t we realised our instructions hadn’t been clear.
This led us onto learning about algorithms. We wrote algorithms for different types of activities such as making a drink.
Later in the week we explored games on the software Scratch. This helped to inspire us when designing our own games. We planned what we wanted our background and sprite to look like and then considered what code we needed to write in order for the sprite to move in the way we wanted. If something wasn’t working we debugged them in order to correct the algorithm.
We thoroughly enjoyed making our games and can’t wait to have a go at playing each other’s games!
